MODS MAYDAY JAPAN 2024
日本各地でMODS MAYDAYが開催される5月。東京のMODS MAYDAY JAPANには、今年も洒落者たちが集結した。一見すると昔から変わらないようにも見えるシーン。しかし、このシーンは健全な新陳代謝を続け、ニューカマーを受け入れる寛容さを持ちながら成長を続けているのだ。
Mods Mayday is held in May at locations throughout Japan. As usual, fashionable people gathered for Tokyo’s event, Mods Mayday Japan. At first glance, the scene looks as if it has not changed since the past, but the still vibrant scene continues growing with an openness toward newcomers.
S.I.P. Vespa Road Trip Tuscany Elba 2024
ドイツ南部、ランツベルグに本拠地を置く、世界最大規模のスクーターパーツカンパニー S.I.P.。 彼らは、Vespaを中心としたアフターパーツ開発の傍で、イベントを精力的に開催することでも知られている。この春、S.I.P.のメンバーたちはイタリア・トスカーナ群島へのロングライドを楽しんだ。
The southern German town of Landsberg am Lech is the home of S.I.P., the world’s largest scooter parts company. In addition to developing aftermarket parts with a focus on Vespas, S.I.P. is known for the events it frequently sponsors. In the spring of this year, the S.I.P. members traveled to the Tuscan archipelago for a long ride.

スクーターという乗り物がこの世に誕生してから70余年。各社の技術者たちは、時代ごとに人々の暮らしや世相を反映しながら、 数々の傑作や意欲作を生み出し、世に問うてきた。 そして、それらを当時の姿のまま後世に残すべく尽力するフリークたち。Timeless Geemsy——それは時代を超えて受け継がれてゆくべき技術遺産だ。今回は50年代後半、Hondaがその社運をかけて製造したエポックメイキングなスクーター、Honda Junoをフィーチャー。
It has been 70 years since the birth of the scooter. Throughout that time, technicians at various manufacturers have produced ambitious models that reflected the lives and social conditions of the period in which they were produced. Thanks to the efforts of enthusiasts, some of the machines have been preserved in their original condition. These timeless gems are technological heritage that should be passed down for generations to come. In this edition of “Timeless Gems,” we feature the Honda Juno, an epoch-making scooter from the late ‘50s that Honda staked its fortune on.

現在もヴィンテージLambrettaの愛好家が精力的に活動するイギリス。 今回は弊誌の協力誌であり、同じ世界観を愛するイギリスのスクーターマグ、 Scooter Novaに掲載されたLambretta Rallymasterをご紹介。 単なるレプリカではなく、的確な時代考証を経てオリジナリティを盛り込んだ珠玉の1台をご覧あれ。
The UK still has an active Lambretta collector scene, and here, we bring you a special feature on a Lambretta Rallymaster that appeared in Scooter Nova, a British scooter magazine that shares our worldview. The scooter you see here is not a mere replica but a masterpiece crafted based on meticulous historical research and brimming with originality.
苺オートバイミーティング / Ichigo Auto-by Meeting
九州・福岡の地で国産旧車を愛するフリークたちから 支持を集めるイベント「苺オートバイミーティング」。 毎年春先に行われ、鉄スクーターから 国産クラシックモーターサイクルまで 九州各地のマニアが参加する。今年も地元の福岡をはじめ、 佐賀、鹿児島など鉄スクーターオーナーが自走で駆けつけた。
The Ichigo Auto-by Meeting is an event held in Fukuoka, Kyushu, supported by the local vintage motorcycle and scooter lovers. It is held annually in the spring, and the participants bring machines ranging from iron scooters to classic Japanese motorcycles. Like in previous years, the event drew iron scooter owners not only from Fukuoka but also from places such as Saga and Kagoshima.
